Carter Family ili Porodica Carter je američka folk muzička grupa koja je djelovala od 1927. do 1956. godine. Poznata je po tome što je njen opus imao izuzetan uticaj na dalji razvoj bluegrassa, countryja, južnjačkog gospela, popa i rocka, kao i na renesansu folka 1960-ih. Smatra se prvom grupom koja je bila istinska zvijezda country muzike. Njihove pjesme kao "Wabash Cannonball", "Can the Circle Be Unbroken", "Wildwood Flower" i "Keep On the Sunny Side" su postale standardni dio country repertoara.[1]
Originalnu grupu su činili Alvin Pleasant "A.P." Delaney Carter (1891–1960), njegova supruga Sara Dougherty Carter (1898–1979) i šurjakinja Maybelle Addington Carter (1909–1978). Maybelle je bila oženjena za A.P.-ovog brata Ezru (Ecka) Cartera koji je istovremeno bio i Sarin bliski rođak. Sve troje su se rodili i odrasli u jugozapadnoj Virdžiniji, gdje su naučili planinsku gospel muziku i shape note pjevanje.
