Radnja prikazuje kako se Raven, koji se našao u posjedu ministrovih tajnih bilješki, pokušava osvetiti svojim poslodavcima dok ga istovremeno proganja policija. A Gun for Sale je ekraniziran nekoliko puta, a među čime se ističe hollywoodski film This Gun for Hire iz 1942. godine gdje je naslovnu ulogu tumačio Alan Ladd.
