Amerigo Vespucci (disebut [ameˈriːɡo veˈsputtʃi, terdekat a.mé.ri.go vés.put.ci]; 9 Mac 1454 - 22 Febuari 1512) adalah seorang peneroka dan pembuat peta kelahiran Republik Firenze. Beliau terlibat dalam pelayaran didanai Kerajaan Portugal sekitar 1501-1502 di mana beliau menemukan bahawa tanah Brazil dan Hindia Barat yang diterokai mereka tidaklah pinggiran timur Asia sepertimana yang disangka dalam pelayaran Christopher Columbus tetapi sebenarnya suatu benua yang berasingan yang digambarkan sebagai " Dunia Baru ". Benua ini diberi nama "America" pada tahun 1507 sempena beliau (melalui pelatinan nama keluarganya Americus).[1]
