レイ・フリーマン（Ray Freeman、1932年1月6日 - 2022年5月1日）はイギリスの化学者^[1]。

来歴

イングランドのダービーシャーで生まれた。オックスフォード大学リンカン・カレッジを卒業後、1957年にフランスに渡り、SaclayでAnatole Abragamの磁気共鳴グループに参加して超再生発振器のNMRの先駆者であるRobert Poundの指導の下で博士号の研究を行った^[1]。1958年に結婚後、アメリカに渡り、ヴァリアン・アソシエイツで核磁気共鳴分光計の開発に従事して1973年にオックスフォード大学へ戻り、1979年にINEPTを提案した^[1]。1999年に定年退職した^[1]。

1990年にリーバーヒューム・メダル、2002年にロイヤル・メダルが授与された。1979年王立協会フェロー選出。

2022年5月1日死去^[2]。90歳没。
