Kadal pagar adalah salah satu nama umum dari anggota-anggota genus Sceloporus pada famili Phrynosomatidae. Nama umum lainnya mencakup kadal berduri, kadal bersisik, kadal rumput tandan dan swift.[1] Genus ini endemik ke Amerika Utara, dengan beragam spesies yang berasal dari New York sampai Washington di utara, sampai satu spesies yang dapat ditemukan paling selatan yaitu di Panama.[2] Keanekaragaman hayati terbesat genus ini dapat ditemukan di Meksiko. Genus ini mencakup beberapa kadal yang paling sering dijumpai di Amerika Serikat.
