Trinity Valley School ("TVS") is a PK-12, co-ed, independent school in Fort Worth, Texas. Trinity Valley School has four main objectives for its students: fine scholarship with its fulfillment at college; the development of wide constructive interests; intelligent citizenship; and spiritual and moral development which promotes lasting values.[2] Trinity Valley School is a member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference and is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS).[3]

History

Trinity Valley School was founded in 1959 by George Bragg and Stephen Seleny. They were inspired to start a liberal arts school while on a tour of Europe with the Texas Boys Choir. Mr. Seleny became the school's first headmaster, a position he held until 1994.[4] Initially, it was an all-boys school. Girls were first admitted in 1971.[5] Today Trinity Valley School has approximately 1,017 students. Adam Wojtelwicz serves as the acting Head of School.[6]

Programs

Trojan Outdoor Experience (TOE)

The Trojan Outdoor Experience (TOE) Program at Trinity Valley School engages students in a variety of activities encompassing outdoor adventure, environmental education, experiential learning, and wilderness expedition programming. Participation in the program spans a student's entire academic career at the school, with events ranging from mandatory to elective.

Since its inception in 1980, TOE has been a cornerstone of campus life, primarily focusing on outdoor experiences to foster students' understanding and appreciation of themselves, their peers, and the environment. A central objective of each activity within the program is to enhance, deepen, and cultivate the school's class culture.[7]

Global Education Program

The TVS Global Education Program is designed to equip students from Lower, Middle, and Upper School at Trinity Valley School with the skills necessary to become globally connected and conscientious leaders. The initiative integrates a multicultural curriculum with both virtual and in-person exchanges to achieve this goal.[8]

The program emphasizes the development of key global and multicultural competencies among students, which include:

  • Self-awareness,
  • Empathy,
  • Cross-cultural communication,
  • Cross-cultural understanding.

Athletics

The athletic program at Trinity Valley School aims to support the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of students through a variety of athletic activities that align with the school's mission statement. The program offers students the opportunity to compete against other schools, face individual challenges, and collaborate with peers to achieve collective goals as a team.[9]

Arts

The Fine Arts program at Trinity Valley School offers a curriculum that includes visual arts, music, theatre, and dance, aiming to enhance creative thinking and problem-solving skills at all educational levels. The program is designed to serve all students, with additional opportunities available for those interested in pursuing the arts professionally after graduation.

Creative problem-solving within the curriculum encourages students to explore multiple solutions and learn from the decision-making process, highlighting the role of creativity in both artistic and non-artistic fields.

The program includes extracurricular activities such as guest artist visits, field trips to museums and performances, and participation in workshops and conferences. This is supplemented by opportunities for students to attend the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) Fine Arts Festival annually.

The faculty of the Fine Arts department at Trinity Valley School consists of professionals who actively maintain and advance their expertise through ongoing education and participation in their respective arts communities, both in the U.S. and internationally.[10]
